Jamboree 2019
2019 was a success. Smaller turnout than usual but thanks to a nice breeze the silly temperatures didn't effect us that much.

2nd poker night of the year
Tonight is the second poker night i'm hosting this year.
Same stakes (£20) but this time we should have 8 players (small chance of 10) rather than 5 the time before, so a whopping £160 total winnings.
I came third back in January i.e. I was the the third player to lose all his chips, I was extremely conservative last time, but that may have been more to do with my beginning hands. Perhaps I will be lucky this time and get into an early lead like Jonno who won.
April's making sausage rolls and honey and mustard mini sausages.

14 years in London / City
I've been working in London for 14 years now (since last Saturday). Wow!
I have to say it's flown by, but not sure if i'm able to do another 14. It just doesn't really interest me any more. I need to find something else to do as a career that also pays me a bundle of cash each month without having to work too hard too often. It's either that or winning the lottery.

10 year anniversary of the friend spreadsheet
Last week was the 10th anniversary of me starting up my 'Friends' spreadsheet.
For those not aware, I started keeping track of my friendship with various people I knew by scoring them a rating of 1 - 10 each week. I now have 524 entries!
People have come and gone in this data set but there is a good core of 10+ that have been scored consistently over the past 10 years. It also includes the occasional note as to why i've suddenly scored them a 6 when the previous week I gave them a 9. All interesting reading i'm sure...
Why do I do it you ask? I can't remember exactly why I started but I imagine it came out of me being annoyed with one or two people in the past. Many people might think i'm not like this but i'm actually very forgiving in nature. After the initial annoyance with any situation I generally revert back to my norm with most relationships within a day or two and tend not to think about it again.
Noticing this, I felt it was unfair on me and unfair on other friends that might want or deserve more of my attention by constantly forgiving people. By keeping track of such things it's allowed me to use pseudo science to review certain friendships from time to time. I haven't not stayed in touch with anyone due to this but have certainly pulled back on my interactions occasionally.
Before i'm judged too harshly on this, you all do it internally without knowing it, some are better at it than others. It may even be unintentional, where you gradually over time lose touch with people that were once good friends. But everybody does it. I'm not unique, but out of all my friends I think i'm one of the few that consistently tries to stay in touch and to see what everyone else is up to.

Current average score of the friends I track = 8.89 / 10 keep up the good work. This is a high of 9.71 (Feb 16) and a low of 6.54 (July 2006). * This is only looking at the current live set of friends.

The same people that often don't ask what's in my bag also don't ask me what's in my note book.
The answer is not much. It's supposed to be there so I can note down ideas and interesting things that I muse about perhaps possible future entries for my blog. In reality, I have one entry, a plan for my football manager game. As you can see, I even got bored with that and didn't finish my list.
I am such a loser.

Football manager history
I was looking at my steam account the other day after pre-ordering the new version of football manager and wrote down the time played on each of my earlier versions of the game.
2009* is abnormally low as I think I also played that on a disk rather than downloaded from steam. Wow!
I would like to add to my defence that and say that these numbers are inflated as I'm certainly not sitting with my laptop for the whole duration and I'm generally doing something at the same time like watching TV but still pretty impressive don't you think???

April kicked my ass at ticket to ride. It's the map German edition, I accidentally ordered that on eBay. Oops!
It's got a few extra rules (which we didn't use) but was good fun.
