Sensible precaution?

I saw this warning above the microwave at work today.

It's either safe or not.

As a precaution...

Don't stab yourself in the face with a knife
Don't jump in front of a train
Don't vote UKIP

I'm free

The house finally has its scaffolding down!

Ooh! Sexy!

Here's a shot of my sexy leg with the strapping the physio gave me. The swelling's gone down a fair bit and I can almost walk now.

Evidence

She turned her nose up at the cat food this morning and stormed straight out to eat some weeds.

Now that's both cats going out through the cat flap. Maybe we can remove the litter tray...

Sunday 26 October 2014

One or two beers after the game

A good game, I think we won 50 odd 15, although I had to hobble off with 20 mins to go. I got a knee to my thigh and can now hardly walk now. It's proper swollen up too. Doh!

If the bruise comes up a bit more I'll be sure to post a photo.

Amazing food at the pig

We went to the Pig in Brokenhurst for the night and it was amazing. We highly recommend it!. April was very brave ordering the "the Bath Chap". It's half a pig's face with a Dodd order of teeth!

It was bloody nice though.

Christmas has arrived early

Our new dining table and chairs arrived last Thursday. It is rather big.

It's the last big spend on the house this year, but it is our Christmas present to ourselves.

8 wooden chairs to match our reclaimed teak table.

Big blue cock

The big blue cock at Trafalgar Square, unfortunately we got the date wrong and it wasn't Steve Coogan on that night it was Sarah Milican and Rebecca Front.  It was still funny though .

Before that we bought some Halloween stuff from a fancy dress shop, popped into a pub for a quick drink then had a fancy Dim Sum meal in Soho.

We were still a little early so we had a couple more drink in a gay bar and surprise surprise I got my arse slapped.  Bloody hell!

Halloween's started early

Can you guess who did which one?

This time this week

I will be mostly in bed.

We're on holiday this week! Yeah!

Now to convince April to make me a cup of tea...

Sunday 19 October 2014

Lunch with April

I went to lunch with April on Thursday.  The Sign of the Don. Very good.

Some cat photos

I know that's why most people read my blog.

What a fun Sunday afternoon

One of my friends at the rugby club is running a big Halloween season at his wildlife farm (The hop farm) and their makeup artist failed to turn up. April's been roped into helping out.

I'm stuck here waiting with 50 <15 year olds in fancy dress getting their faces made up as zombies, clowns, and insane asylumees.

It's been quite fun, but my phone is running out of battery so hopefully it won't be for much longer.

Happy 40th

It's a friend's 40th birthday today and we're going out for a curry later. April suggested we buy him a present.

Some photos from last weekend

Last Saturday we headed into London to see a band that April had seen at the houses of parliament earlier in the year.

Rouge.

Brilliant!

After that were dragged to club de fromage. The first night club I'd been to in 10 years.  It was shit.

Good night night though.

April's request

April says I haven't written much on my blog recently.

True. No real reason why. Just haven't bothered. I guess I haven't seen much of her this week so she wondered what I'd been up to. In absence of me being there too ask I guess my blog is the next best place to look.

The most exciting thing happening is we're on holiday next week. Yeah! It's been a long time since we've had a week off to ourselves and am really looking forward to it.

After that I've got 1.5 days left till the end of the year where I think I'll try and buy 5 extra.

What a waste of time

Just finished watching Almost Human, finally. Good show. Why are they not renewing it?

Twats

Wednesday 8 October 2014

Snacks for the night whilst ill

I'm sure I'll survive.

Football manager on the big screen

Chromecast arrived today. What's the first thing I did with it? 47 inches of football manager!

Off I'll today

I've had a bit of a cold for the last few days but it's seemed to have gotten worse today. Only one thing for it. Lemsip overdose.

More tablet news

I dropped it coming out of the station and have cracked the screen. Doh! It still works but will annoy me. I wonder if I can get a replacement somewhere.

Tuesday 7 October 2014

Idiot

Nearly left my tablet at the counter of the pasty shop. When I say nearly, I meant I did. I luckily ran back in time to pick it up. Doh!

Cat dentist

We took Biscuit in to get her teeth cleaned yesterday and the poor thing had three of them removed. Ouch!

They took her in at 8:30 and I picked her up at 6. She hadn't eaten all day, in fact she hasn't eaten since 8pm on Sunday so she was ravenous. Even more so than usual.

Greedy cat.

Oops. Should have turned the phone off

My phone just went off in a lecture at the institute of actuaries. Oops.

I did think I'd put it on silent.  Maybe I should have turned it off like they said.

Monday 6 October 2014

Quality Stu and Sun time

Poppet and Biscuit enjoying a relaxing weekend.

No rugby for me this weekend so a nice quiet weekend. It started on Friday (as they usually do) where went to our old local straight after work. It was the last night of the 'new' landlords.

Saturday, we did the weekly shop before I went to watch the 3rds at the club. After that we did pretty much nothing.

Sunday we went for a nice Sunday lunch in a local village and picked up some wood for the fire.

Friday 3 October 2014

One view of my building

A rare angle of the Lloyd's building. I'm moving to the 10th floor soon.

10 more days

Only 10 working days left before I have a week off. Can't wait. We haven't had any real time off since Australia back in spring.

Nothing major planned although the well is staying to fill up.

Steve Coogan getting interviewed by Richard Herring

Fancy fish lunch in Southampton

Fancy dinner and hotel stay in the New Forrest

Visiting friends in Winchester

Going to see a ska band on Old Street.

Lost then found

No need to buy new shoes now! The guy at the lost property office at Cannon Street found my bag. Woohoo!

The heat is on

We haven't really put the heating on since we moved into the new house but we've certainly had a few fires.
