It was a bit foggy this morning.  We certainly wouldn't have been playing rugby if there was a game.

 I spotted a family of dear on my morning walk with Arwen today.  We probably got 150m away before they bolted.

Pointless!

My friend Stuart was on pointless today. It's with his friend Ash who I also worked with at Lloyd's. It was supposed to be on last Monday but was postponed due to the Queen dying.

They won and got two pointless answers in the final round! Will done Stu and Ash!

Poor sleepy Arthur

Arthur goes to his childminder on Fridays, her and a bunch of her other childminding friends own a small forest, which even has their own mini goat. It was all too much for him this week.

 We had friends over on Saturday and made cocktails, Flo didn't want to miss out so we helped her make a cocktail.

Rocket cat

Much to my annoyance, April booked us in for another family photoshoot yesterday. It was pretty good though. Highlight being a overly friendly cat that tagged along for the fun. At one point it climbed onto the photographer! No photos unfortunately as I left my phone in the car. We subsequent found out it's name was pumpkin.

We've tried to copy across a back up of our music to the Jukebox but it turns out the system is very picky. We messaged rock-ola and they said file names need to be free of spaces. My brother wrote a bit of code to trawl through our catalogue and rename the files but when I tried to import again it still failed.

By this time we already manually added 2 rows and the back up was all the way back in 2013 so we've decided to just plow on through. We'd have to manually check anyway to see which ones were missed so it's just something we have to do.

I'll make sure we back it up once done! 4 rows done. 3 to go. So far we have copied across 485!

A little shorter than we'd liked

 We took Arthur for another haircut at the weekend, his hair gets quite wavey (like mine) when it gets long so we wanted it cut a little shorter.  A number 3 round the sides is a little short (I get a 2).  Oh well, at least it'll grow back soon enough.

It's finally arrived

 After ordering the Rock-ola Bubbler at the end of November it finally arrived on Friday afternoon.

We've struggled to copy media across to it so in the mean time have started ripping our entire music collection manually. (again)

It arrived with a dent to one of the plastic panels which will either need to be replaced or fixed (FFS!)

20 years in the city

I started work in the City of London 20 years ago last week.  It's a strange feeling, I've met lots of nice people, some of which are still very good friends. Some have been wankers but I guess you get that in every industry. Money's been good, very good for the amount of work I have to do so overall I have very little to complain about. 

I think i'm in love

As you all know I get paid far too much money and as it was my birthday last week I though i'd treat myself to an extravagant purchase. I've been looking at getting a nice set of stone dice but they are terribly expensive.  I've also been toying with the idea of getting a nice wooden dice carrying dice mat but the one I want is the best part of £100.  These weren't quite that but not far off it. Maybe i'll treat myself at Christmas.

 

Jukebox update...

I've just had a call from our Jukebox supplier. It's finally getting delivered on Friday! We ordered it at the end of November last year.

Flo's first day of school

 Flo started reception today.  Here she is in her new school uniform.  At least she doesn't have to wear a beret like one of her friends at their school!

Triple kids parties this week!

 One on Saturday and a doubler this morning.  Here's Arthur's all tuckered out before grabbing an impromptu lunch at Sankey's.  2 lobsters, some oysters and steak.  I drew the short straw and had to drive so no nice wine for me.  Both kids were excellent throughout.

Fell asleep just as we arrived.

There's music at Sankey's on Sunday.  The guys decided on having a little dance.  The musician was very patient!

Flo starts reception next week

 After 8 weeks off Flo is finally heading back to school.  We all had a week off at the beginning, she was back at the school for a couple of weeks in their summer club, another couple of weeks at a different summer club then April's had the last two weeks off with her.  It will be good to get her back into more of a routine and some proper structure.

Arthur started with his new child minder yesterday and is having a great time.  The childminder and a bunch of her other childminder friends have bought a bit of land and basically have a mini forest school.  Athur was playing with one of their goats yesterday!  He's there 3 days a week and at his old nursery for the other two days.  That's until he heads to the nursery at Flo's school after next year's easter holiday.

 April commissioned the daughter of Grayson Perry to paint this for me.  What a wonderful dog!  And wife.
