Last night's session

New dice, free DM's (5.5)guide and nobody died.

Belated Christmas present from one of the players.  He bought us all mystery dice bags (£20).  Here's my selection.  I love the gold d20.  I also received a free copy of the new DM's guide.  Our DM pre-ordered one but then wanted the players guide and the monster manual.  The deal he found meant it was cheaper to just get all 3 so had a spare.

Not the best place to stand, 3 cone's of cold and a fireball later left us with quite a few less HP than we started.  Luckily after a short rest and having a level 10 life cleric can heal a fair amount of that.

Ou GM is away next week so someone's going to run a one shot paranoia game.  I don't think i've played that for over 30 years!

Free stuff

One of the ladies that works behind the bar of my local also cleans houses, one of her clients is going to a lot of the England games over in France so was given a load of free merch.  They passed that on to her and she passed it onto me.  I've also got a battery bank, bottle opener and some extra tat.

Although i'd rather have cash the second bit of free stuff was from our old builders who we've recommended and the family of one of Flo's friends are now using them for their building project. It's the second bottle of fizz we're had from them.

I'm free

We've just taken our wedding rings and engagement ring to a local jeweller to have them valued so that they can be added onto our home insurance.  They need to take them in and will likely take a couple of days.  It feels strange not having it as it's more or less permanently on, and has been for nearly 12 years.

Tour of Bloomberg's London office

A Tonbridge friend gave me a tour of his building yesterday, what a view!  The inside was pretty impressive too.  The best perk was free mini cheddars.

Afterwards we met up with a few others and had quite a few beers in the Market Porter in Borough Market.

The mother load

I was one of the first in this morning and have found the mother load.

Usually the chocolate biscuits are the first to go.

I'm now debt free!

I paid off the last of my credit cards this morning.  That's apart from our massive mortgage that is.  I am now officially debt free.

They were all on long term interest free but i'd rather get rid of the payments for good.  I think i've had this kind of debt since starting uni 20+ years ago.  It's nice to think that all of my money now goes direct to me.

Free watch repairs

If you ever need a watch repaired take it in to the posh jewellers next to me. They do it for free!

Breakfast of the gods

Here's one for Markus.  A salami swiss special from Basil's near Fenchurch Street Station.  It was my company's Summer party last night and I hadn't eaten anything since lunch yesterday so thought it would be for the best.

In addition to that we're having a leaving lunch here today

And a free meal here tonight

Tomorrow we're off here for my Dad's 65th birthday

Sunday will be a day of fasting. And playing football manager.

Free umbrellas

My company gave out free branded umbrellas a couple of days ago to anyone in the office who wanted one. Why give them to us? We know who we are. If they are given to people outside the company you get the same brand out there but move it outside the immediate circle of contact. Once lost on a train it's new journey begins.

Maybe it's like those charity helium balloons you release. Whoever's gets posted back from the farthest place get a prize.

Or maybe 7 steps of separation...

Buzzcocks

A friend of mine has two spare tickets to a Nevermind the Buzzcocks recording in a couple of weeks so has invited us two to come along with him.

Should be good fun. It'll be similar to the QI gig but he's got priority tickets so we won't have to queue up with all the plebs. I imagine that'll mean more drinking time if James has anything to do with it. Eek!

Free tea this morning

I went to my usual coffee shop to pick up my white tea this morning and when I offered to pay he said don't worry about it. I asked why and he said because it was a Friday.

Good man.

I told the guys at work and they said i've probably got a stalker.

Great...

Result

I had lunch with James today and there wasn't enough time to grab lunch on the way back to the office.

Luckily we've got a load of graduates in today and there's loads of left over sandwiches, sausage rolls and pork pies!

Result!

Plus, before knowing this I did a sneaky walk of shame and grabbed a packet of jaffa cakes and some hob nobs. That's almost a three course meal.

Another free half day 2

We've just been told that we can more or less go home now. Ha, ha. None of our underwriters are in as their renewals for January have all been completed so our big boss has let the rest of us go home too.

Only problem being i'm out in the West End later with April. We're off to grab a bite to eat and to see Spamalot (a present from her Dad).

There's not enough time for me to go home this time so means it i'll have to hang around London until 6:15 with not much to do. I could go shopping but I don't need or want anything, it would just be a waste. I can't even go to the pub.

Boo!

Mmmm, free curry

Just used my AMEX (American Express) card for the first time for lunch with my boss and one of his old work collegues.

I mentioned to him yesterday that it had came through the post so he straight away invited me and said that I was paying.

Quite a good laugh though and it gets me out of the office (2 hours). Plus it was free, all I have to do is hand the reciept to a secretary. £80 for free!

Reminder to Stu, make sure your sort out the reciept...

Ha, ha, ha!

Before you comment Ben, here's a selection of ready made comments that you can use

"You sir, are a git"
"Gitty, gitty, git face Clark"
"Return of the git, Stuart strikes again"
"You are a curry eating git monster"
"Git"

Or why not use them all.

Reminder to Stu2, make sure you buy some chewing gum on your way home as you don't want to put April off with your (free) curry / beer breath.

One more time for fun...

Ha, ha, ha!
