Off I'll today

I've had a bit of a cold for the last few days but it's seemed to have gotten worse today. Only one thing for it. Lemsip overdose.

Feel like i'm coming down with something

I feel as if i'm coming down with something, I was fine this morning but I felt it gradually taking hold this afternoon.  I hope it clears up quickly.

Buy, buy, buy

Still got this bloody cold.  If I were a trader i'd be buying heavily in Beechams.  I must have used the best part of £20 already on lemsips alone.  When will it end?  I've had today off work to try and recover.  Fingers crossed!

What a great start to the week

I've managed to catch April's cold. Great. Thanks April. Time for a black current Lemsip overdose.

Do I have a cold or am I addicted to Lemsip?

I'm back in work today but still not feeling great. After a lemsip i'm fine for 3 - 4 hours then I start to feel the cold coming back so I take another lemsip.

Is this my cold coming back as the lemsip's effects are wearing off or is it my body craving more lemsips so is actually withdrawl symptoms from an active ingredient within the sachet?

Looking on the back of the box, it contains paracetamol (analgesic & antipyretic), Phenylephrine hydrochloride (decongestant) and guaifenesin (Expectorant).

What the hell is an expectorant??? Is my body expecting to get it's fix of guaifenesin? What does wikipedia say?

Yuk! I wish I didn't look it up now

An expectorant (from the Latin expectorare, to expel from the chest) is a medication that helps bring up mucus and other material from the lungs, bronchi, and trachea. An example of an expectorant is guaifenesin which promotes drainage of mucus from the lungs by thinning the mucus and lubricating the irritated respiratory tract. Sometimes the term "expectorant" is incorrectly extended to any cough medicine.

Hot and cold flushes

Am I experiencing the menopause? I bloody well hope not, let's hope it's just a cold. I thought I was a little better this afternoon so headed out to the shops to get some soup.

Just by walking round I bloody started sweating! What's that about? Maybe I need more lemsip...

I have a cold

For the last few mornings i've felt not quite right, I thought it was maybe hayfever so this morning a took a tablet. Over the course of the day I think it's turned into a cold.

I'm blocked up, snotty, sneezy, have watery eyes and have a bit of a fever. Those that know my out of work schedule this week will know that i'm supposed to be going to the theatre with April later today may be suspicious.

But I truly am coming down with something. Hopefully April can replace the irreplaceable for the evening.

On a related note I’ve just popped out to buy some lemsip, my usual trick is to overdose on them so perhaps that will do the trick. I’ve just been to the kitchen to boil the kettle but it appears to have gone missing. That left me with a dilemma. Do I use cold water? Or do I use one of the automatic tea sachets and mix it in? Luckily I saw someone getting hot water from some sort of urn so I just used that.

Interesting fact of the day: The directions on the back of the box of lemsips state that they are for oral use only…

Stinking cold

I felt the start of a cold coming on on Saturday, Sunday night it began getting worse. Now I have a stinking cold.

The plan (as usual) is to OD on lemsip.
