Crobar - Long time no visit

I met up with Shaheen and Ross on Saturday.

Nobody died

Except for Ross' car.  He left his lights on so it wouldn't start on Sunday morning.  Ha, ha.

Bernard has been busy

My ex colleague Bernard bought this box, designed the graphics then got his sister to burn them into it.  Brilliant.

They say you should never meet your heros

I doubt I will (although we did sit next to Doug Stanhope in a restaurant a couple of hours before his gig at the HA).  I will be one of the 3,500 people going to see Chevy Chase at the Hammersmith Apollo on Saturday.
It's my Christmas present to my brother Steve.

I'm meeting Shaheen at the Hawksmoor on Air Street for lunch before.  Should be good.  I might even pop into the Crobar for good luck.

Some photos from Saturday night

I met up with Shaheen and Ross on Saturday afternoon for a steak in Hawksmoor followed by lots of drinks all over the place. There was even crowd surfing in the Crobar. Not by us I hasten to add...

The Crobar now has a wine list

Don't worry, I didn't try any. I kept to the can of red stripe.

I managed to convince April

To go the Crobar for a drink before the gig last night. We ended up staying for 3. I mean,  why wouldn't you???

Managed to get April into the Crobar 2 nights in a row last week.

2014 beerathon

After going to the last 6 or 7 Great British Beer Festivals we decided to give this year's a miss. It's good fun but after about 4pm it just gets far too busy and it's all the way over in Olympia which is a real hassle to get too.

This year we decided to just do some beer tasting of our own and just did a pub crawl around Soho. I was home by 8 but we had good fun.

Where to next year?

It's -5 out there!

I had beers with Shaz yesterday, many of which were in one of my favorite pubs, the Crobar. Here's a photo of one of the clientele.

Shorts?

Good night though. Looking forward to moving back to London... at some point.

New Band

Ben won free tickets to see Airborne Toxic Event at the Drill Hall (London), so invited April and I to join him.  Not bad at all.

We started off in the Crobar (they now have a pub pug dog called Rommel which is cool although he has quite the flatulence problem), excellent choice if I don't mind saying so myself then wondered over to the venue just off Goodge Street.

Here are some photos.  The first is of some strange chap with a metal pyramid on his head.  I guess anything goes in Soho...

It's going to be a good night...

April's got another mini acoustic gig with her old band tonight but before hand we're going for a quick drinkipoo in the Crobar. Rawk! It souls be a good turnout, Ross, Shaz, Ian, 5 others plus the usual crowd upstairs in the pub. Let's hope April doesn't make me cry this time...
