Do I have a cold or am I addicted to Lemsip?

I'm back in work today but still not feeling great. After a lemsip i'm fine for 3 - 4 hours then I start to feel the cold coming back so I take another lemsip.

Is this my cold coming back as the lemsip's effects are wearing off or is it my body craving more lemsips so is actually withdrawl symptoms from an active ingredient within the sachet?

Looking on the back of the box, it contains paracetamol (analgesic & antipyretic), Phenylephrine hydrochloride (decongestant) and guaifenesin (Expectorant).

What the hell is an expectorant??? Is my body expecting to get it's fix of guaifenesin? What does wikipedia say?

Yuk! I wish I didn't look it up now

An expectorant (from the Latin expectorare, to expel from the chest) is a medication that helps bring up mucus and other material from the lungs, bronchi, and trachea. An example of an expectorant is guaifenesin which promotes drainage of mucus from the lungs by thinning the mucus and lubricating the irritated respiratory tract. Sometimes the term "expectorant" is incorrectly extended to any cough medicine.
