On the way to the gig
It was a bit of a ball ache getting to the gig last night, but I had a good time so worth it in the end.
My game's been cancelled
My game for the Badgers has been cancelled. The replacement team couldn't field enough numbers. We were originally supposed to play Gravesend Moles but they pulled out due to lack of numbers, Sevenoaks stepped in but again couldn't put a team together. Must have been scared about playing against me... It's a shame as I was looking forward to it. I'm missing next week's game as i'm away with April. There are loads of fixtures coming up in the next month or so, so not really missing out.
Getting numbers for teams is tough these days. Especially with the Autumn internationals. Many would be players have tickets for the games.

Ooh, April will like that
I'll get it for her birthday. 8 months later, ooh, April will like that. I'll get it for her for Christmas...
Gig tonight
We're off to see a band tonight. Volbeat. Supported by Bush, who would be good to see too. I only started listening to them a couple of years ago but quite like them. Shaheen, Kate, April and a couple from the rugby club are coming too. Unfortunately, it's all the way up at Wembley Arena which takes around 1h30 / 1h45 to get to. I need to leave here when the baby sitter arrives at 5:30. And at least one of us will have to leave early to make sure we're back by 12.
Top top it all off, England football are at home that day so the whole place will be rammed and full of wankers! Great!
New Dice holder
I bought this on etsy the other day and it arrived on Tuesday. I thought it was missing a couple of it's magnets (for holding it closed), but it turns out the glue keeping them in place had worked lose and they were just stuck to the opposite magnet. Doh!
Omelette fail
I often post photos about my cooking triumphs, but is also important to let my public know that I am also human and can sometimes fail. Here's my attempt at an omelette... I blame the pan.
Poor Arthur
Arthur keeps getting holes in his school jumper and April is fed up repairing it so has gone full 70s/80s university lecturer mode and sewed on leather patches. Poor kid!
Cthulhu is back
After a couple of months hiatus, our roleplaying Cthulhu group is back. We aim to play every other week.

Days left
Only 31 more days of work left this year, and two of them i'll have nothing to do. I did have the 18th December to the 1st Jan off but i'm now not taking off the 24th and 31st December. I can't see there being much work to do, and am kind of hoping we get an e-mail to say we can log off at 12 so only expecting to work for half the day anyway. No point wasting a days holiday.
We've booked ourselves a pre-christmas cabin retreat at the forest holiday place we used to go to. We're off to the Forest of Dean again. I think i've been to these things over 10 times now. They'll be perfect for our little get away and the kids are old enough to get involved in the activities.
Photoshoot
We had our annual family photoshoot yesterday afternoon and although cold really lucked out with the weather. We should get the photos before December, just in time to produce our annual Christmas card.
Arthur was better, but he really struggles to just act normal...
Arthur. Can you do a nice smile? He then proceeds to what I can only describe as a gurn and starts to dance. HE's not usually like that, only when it comes to taking a picture! Grrrr....
TJs 3s vs Gillingham 2s 52-7
The Gillingham lads that turned up were all the same size, around 6ft and fat. We were a mix of old heads and some young kids. One was 18 and played in his first senior game. It was a pretty easy game in the end. They couldn't keep up with us and they were all blowing 20 mins in. Saying that, they were a nice bunch and am sure it will be a lot tougher at the return fixture.
No injuries to speak of although I have a nice bruise developing in my nether region, don't worry, I won't be taking a photo. We're now top of the league!
Blind mango tasting
I've been eating quite a bit of dried mango recently and it's quite expensive. Waitrose sell 3 lots of mango (one isn't dried) so wanted to blind taste test them to see which one I prefer. It turns out I prefer the cheapest option, although they're not actually that cheap.
School Fireworks
Our second set of fireworks on Friday, this time at the kids school. They always put on a good show.

Weight still continues to drop
I was at my lowest adult weight a couple of days ago. Down to 83.75kg.
Energy renewal
It's time for our house to renew it's energy supplier. We're currently with British gas and their cheapest tariff is £585 a month. That's considerably more than we're paying now. I've just checked with Octopus and it's £317 based on our usage which is even less than we're paying now which was fixed on a long term teal years ago before the big price hikes. What a difference!
Captain Bluebeard
I had Captain Bluebeard in my carriage on the way into work this morning. He was reading classic car weekly. Garrrr!
It's Christmas!
Or at least Tonbridge and Malling council seem to think it is. They're putting up the town Christmas tree at the end of our street this morning on the way into work.
Louis Theroux talk
After 15-20 minutes of technical issues, we had Louis Theroux live in our office (I was working from home). His topic was Society on Edge: The rise of extremism. He was interviewed by our head of HR and was very funny as expected. Lot's of funny anecdotes about his career.

14th wedding anniversary yesterday
Well, that went quickly. We were at the home with the kids last night so we decided to have steak and chips for dinner to celebrate. Can you guess who's steak is who's? Fillet or Ribeye. I think they cost around the same. £40 for the total at our local butchers.
