Off to France tomorrow
We're taking the week off next week and are driving to Sezanne, about 20 min from Epernay (Champagne). We're going with a couple of other families so there will be 12 of us. The same families we went to Camber Sands with last year. I'm swapping cars with a friend for the week as I don't fancy charging the car whilst abroad. Should be a fun trip though..
Idiot
It's pay day at my new company today so I checked my bank balance. I was looking forward to see money going into it for once as I haven't been paid anything since January. I had a pay slip but when I checked there was still no money in my account.
I spoke to HR and it looks like i've given them incorrect bank details. What an idiot! It's all fine, i'll just get paid early next week.

Arwen's joined me in the pub
She's got a haircut appointment at 1:30 so took her along first. After the initial excitement she's actually pretty good.
Marbles
Arthur's new marble game. We put it together yesterday but he didn't really have a chance to play with it as we went straight to the Chinese to celebrate his birthday.
That's nice
On Mondays we take Florence to a singing lesson at 7pm, one of us is usually in London so the other has to take both kids to the lesson then usually pops to Fuggles for a quick pint / glass of wine with Arthur before picking up Flo and going home.
On Monday April forgot to take Arthur's sunflower home from the pub and he was really upset as it was the tallest in his class.
She thought she'd left it at the music centre but popped into Fuggles yesterday to see if they had it.
They had, and they'd been watering it ever since. That's nice of them.
Punch and Judy yesterday
I watched the Europa league final last night in my old local the Punch and Judy. One of my mates is a Spurs fan so I went along with him and his wife to watch. The whole pub had turned into a Tottenham supports club. It was a good laugh. Dread to think of what would happen if they'd have lost!

I just don't look right
We've been invited to Royal Ascot this year and we're going to be in the Royal Enclosure. Ooh! Fancy. I've had to be measured up in top had and tails.
Before anyone says anything. Yes, I know I look like the fat controller / monopoly man...

Lobster o'clock
I really fancied lobster this Saturday so we took a trip to Sankeys. I love it in there. Prices have gone up though
We went shoe shopping afterwards till I got bored and left to find some refreshment. I found a tiki bar and had a mojito! Sorry April...
40th round a friends
One of our friends had her 40th birthday at their house on Saturday, loads of the Tonbridge lot turned up. It was good fun.
Ottolenghi hasselback potatoes
I first cooked these about 15 years ago, I decided to give them another go and have them with a roast chicken. Yum.
Monday night fun
There was some sort of gas leak near the tunnel between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks at home town on Monday night so there were loads of train cancellations, delays and I eventually had to get a bus replacement. Urgh! Bus wanker.
Happy birthday Arthur!
It's my son's 5th birthday today! We're off to the Chinese at his request to celebrate.

Struggling with the 3 days a week in town
My new role has me in town 3 days a week, it's been a while since i've last had to do that. My last place basically said I didn't need to head in for the last 6 months. With April being in town too it makes child care a bit more of an issue as the kids need picking up before 6. We've got other parents that can help out from time to time but it is a bit of an issue. I need to leave the office before 4:30 if i'm going to get back in time to pick up the kids.
Fantasy football update
I'm just outside the top 20k fantasy football players this year with 2 game weeks to go. That's out of 11.5m players (i'm sure the vast majority of accounts are now dormant), even given that, it's been a bloody good season for me.
I'm top of all my groups except for 1 and have no realistic prospect of winning the whole thing but still very pleased. I'm 154 pts clear in my Tonbridge group with 2 games left so no realistic chance of me losing, but it comes with a £20 entry fee for prize money and also a trophy. I've won it 3 times out of 6 (about to be 4th time winning out of 7). Usually we'll all meet up for the fa cup final or for the final week of the season but we have a 40th birthday party and i'm away in France for the final game so struggling to find a date where we can meet. The winner has to pay for drinks out of the winnings so they're usually out of pocket especially after getting the trophy engraved.
I've suggested some alternate meets but not much joy (one response). Sod it. Just pay up.

The garden's looking nice
The popped round for a couple of hours yesterday. They're due back in a week or two to put in a water butt to collect the water that comes off the shed and a bird bath on top of the old tree stump.

Fantasy football
With 2 game weeks to go in the league I'm just outside the top 20k of fantasy football players. That's out of 11.5m players. Pretty good right? Yes, the majority of those are no longer active players but still? Very pleased.

It's a bit overgrown at the minute but we have the gardeners round for their quarterly visit today so will be great for the summer.

Another BBQ at the weekend. Arthur decided to wear his Metallica top. We had another BBQ round some friends place on Sunday too!
