Dog agility

 One of April's work colleagues looked after Arwen this weekend whilst we were away in London for the Metallica gigs.  There's a dog agility course near their house.

Metallica weekend!

 It's the long awaited Metallica weekend. My friend bought them for us last year as he's a season ticket holder at West Ham but they were only delivered in the app on Wednesday!  It's all good, they've been transferred over to me now.

We're going with Shaheen and Kate, we're picking the kids up early at school (4pm) driving straight to to theirs, dropping the kids off with their baby sitter then Kate's driving us to the London Stadium.  We'll see the gig then head back to Shaheen's.  I think we have a restaurant or two planned on Saturday, then it's rinse and repeat on Sunday night.

England are playing Mexico at 1am on Monday morning so there is a plan to stay up and watch that!  Then we need to drive back (April's driving) and we're dropping the kids straight into school.  Urgh!

Wrong box

 One of my boxes of wine from Waitrose was incorrect.  What was supposed to be pinot grigio, is sparkling rose. Not really my cup of tea really, or wine for that matter.

Nice surprise

 I received a letter from HMRC yesterday and it said i'd overpaid £460 in tax last year.  Whohoo!  It was a little convoluted to arrange to get it back but that's done now.

Does the BBC actually think this is they type of drone we're talking about here?

 

Can you spot it?

 I took the dog out early last week as it was going to be stupidly hot later in the day.  I spotted this.  Arwen didn't even notice.

5 course tasting menu

 Last Thursday we went to Mereworth Vineyard for a meal and some paired win.  What a beautiful day. 

Chiddingstone touch rugby

 I played for the Badgers over in Chiddingston on Saturday.  We got hammered in the first two games then lost again in the final game of the group.  It was much closer though and good fun.  I got the train to Penshurst then cycled to the ground with a friend.  Then cycled all the way back to Leigh to say hello to some friends playing cricket, then cycled home to quickly get showered and changed as we were due at a friend's 40th back in Leigh!

The kids got a couple of games too.

My leg's not great.  I got a nasty friction burn when sliding on the hard ground.

Foot long, who wants a foot long?

 I asked the kids if they wanted normal size hot dogs or if they wanted the larger ones.  They opted for the larger ones...

New dice stand

 I bought another dice stand from etsy the other week, i'd need another couple to display the lot though.

Riding back from the cricket on Sunday

 Flo's decided to join in with the cricket every other week so this week we all cycled to Leigh and back from Tonbridge.  It's a nice ride.

Secret Fathers Day

 After cricket in the morning April took me and the kids into London for a secret fathers day.  First we went to the sister restaurant of Fallow, Fowl.  Fallow was where we went for my birthday last year.  I follow the two chefs on youtube.  After that we went back to London Bridge and onto Sixes.  An indoor cricket batting simulator / bar.  I came 3rd out of the 4 of us.  Very disappointed...

Friday's morning walk

 With it being so hot during the day, i've been taking the dog out n the morning.  It's lovely.

Finished

It took a while, but I finished it yesterday in time for Arthur getting home. 

Red deer

 Spotted this on a big walk with Arwen earlier.  It was a few hundred meters away so apologies for the poor picture quality.  It's getting a bit warm again so don't like taking her out for too long at midday, but there's no other time for it today.  Maybe evening walks might be a better shout when it's hot.

Puzzle solved

 We solved a word puzzle in last night's game.  It was good fun.

More firepit cooking

 I cooked steak fajitas on Sunday evening, I also made oven chicken wings and padron peppers too.

Birthday present

 One of Arthur's friends gave him a racing car kit for his birthday (party last weekend).  I don't know what they were expecting a 6 year old to be able to do...  It's taken April and I 6 hours to part build it over the weekend.  We're now on bag 5/6.  It's pretty impressive, it has model engine in there with pistons that go up and down.  I googled how much it cost and was surprised that it was only £25 in BM.  If this was real lego it would have been £100+

Mmm Ramen

 I made ramon on Sunday for lunch.  I didn't make the actual stock so can't take full credit.  In fact, I forgot to cook the chicken to go with it.  The kids loved it though.

Village Cricket

A slight change of plan on Sunday morning, I took Arthur to his cricket and April too Flo her junior park run. It's a 25 minute cycle.

 

Pizza

 We fired up the pizza oven on Saturday for dinner.   April made the dough, we all chose our toppings and I tried not to set fire to them in the pizza oven.

BBQ on the firepit

 I used the firepit for the first time in ages on Saturday.  It turned out really well.
