Pub walk

Whilst April was away I walked to a nice village pub for a couple of drinks with a friend and the dogs. It was hot but we had plenty of shade.

Big lunch time walk with Arwen

 I took Arwen out for a big walk yesterday lunch time.  It was nice, probably one of the last nice ones weatherwise we'll get for a while.

Touch rugby last night

 I went along to the Badgers touch rugby session yesterday.  The first of the year.  I think I went to 95% of them last year.  I'd love to have gone more but with my shoulder problems earlier in the year and with us both working more often in London in our new roles is sometimes difficult to get the time away.

Anyway, it was good fun, with only a little rain which meant it was quite slippery in my trainers.

I'm feeling a little sore today though.

Kids having fun in Spain

 I'm home alone at the moment as April has taken the kids to Spain with a friend for a week.

Games testing

 I've been asked to play test that game that I play again.  It was very short notice, I received an e-mail from them yesterday afternoon whilst out walking the dog and the first 4 that replied would get the slot.  I replied within 10 seconds and go a spot.

I've finished the majority of my work at the moment so managed to book off tomorrow for the testing.  Let's hope it's in a better state than it was 8 months ago.

Elliot's with my brother

 I went out for a joint birthday dinner with my brother yesterday.  We went to Elliot's.  I've been a couple of times before, apparently once with Steve.  Here's the trout dish.  It was one of about 7 things we had.  All delicious.

Roast pork

 I cooked a roast pork loin earlier and it turned out well. I roasted some apples to go with it too.

Park run

I got round with Flo in a similar time to last week but still a little off her PB.  She's still whingeing a lot and we had to stop once (walking, twice last time).  We've go one more week to beat her best time as rugby starts in a couple of weeks.

Dog walk

 With much complaining from Florence we took the dog out for a walk yesterday, and in the end they had a lot of fun.

Vietnamese lunch

We popped to Tunbridge Wells for the final part of Flo's school uniform purchase (shoes), April took her to Sevenoaks to a place called Horncastles in the morning and spent £450!  FFS!  Anyway, after Arthur's rearranged skateboard lesson we headed to Tunbridge Wells and ended up having some Vietnamese food at a place called Pho.  The kids loved it.

 

Friday excitement

 I'm working from home today but the kids have exciting times.  Flo's off for a day of birthday celebrations.  Arthur has gone with April to Diggerland for the day.

A quick walk before holiday club

 It's their last day today, as April has the day off tomorrow to take the Arthur to Diggerland.  Flo's at a friends birthday party all day.  Next week April's taking the kids to Spain with another mum and her kids (i'm home alone).  Then it's more or less back to school.  Yeah for getting back into a routine!

We managed to defeat Strahd

 After a very tough battle with 3 of us downed (due to a friendly area effect spell) we managed to defeat Strahd and have found our way home.  I can't make next week as i'm out in London for a shared birthday dinner with my brother.

Skateboard tricks

 Arthur had his first skateboarding lesson on Friday, I took his skateboard with me when I picked them up from their holiday club yesterday and had a quick practice.  His next lesson is Saturday.

Visiting Dad

 We drove back to Weldon last Sunday, Flo got some lovely dresses from one of Ann's friends and we got to shake some apples out of a tree.  Journey up was fine but 3.5 hours on the way home.  Urgh.

It was a bit flamey when the oil lit but nobody died.  I made a dill and creme fresh sauce as well. 

£8.20 rip off

 I paid £8.20 for a pint of beer yesterday. London City.  I met up with friends in the Counting House for lunch yesterday and bought my friend a pint of Asahi (Fullers pub).  £8.20!  We were due to meet in the spoons but it was too busy so moved to the next closest pub.  Jeez!

Weight

 83.75kg this morning.  Lowest recording yet.  I think most of that was sweat though as I came back from the gym dripping!

Picking up the kids

 Flo is due to be in some ballet thing later in the year so has some additional rehearsals over in Tunbridge Wells during the week. Unfortunately they start and finish at difficult times for working parents. 10-4pm It's over in Tunbridge Wells so is an hour round trip as i've got to drop off and pick up Arthur too!  Here's us waiting for Florence to finish

Big battle

 We fought a rather large battle of cultists in the last episode of Vecna.  We retrieved the 4th part of his staff but are about to meet Straad (a vampire) as we attempt to leave the haunted house.  Great.  Looking forward to that.

Back to the pub tonight

 Our roleplaying group is back in the pub tonight.  We're in the upstairs function room and it's going to be bloody hot.  I'm going to bring a couple of portable fans.

Legoland on Sunday

 Arthur's been asking to go to Legoland for quite a while now, with the weather been rubbish at the beginning of year and us having a more or less full schedule over the Spring / Summer we finally had a spare day so took the family on Sunday.  What was the verdict?  Pretty good really.  We went on a few rides, saw a show, went to a couple of water parks and made lots of lego.

Impromptu bbq

 We had an impromptu bbq on Saturday night and I got the fire pit out

Tonbridge Pride

 Tonbridge put on another great Pride event on Saturday afternoon.  It was bloody hot though and I got fairly burnt.
