Must be getting better

 I swam 1km this morning.  No ill effects, my arm must be getting better.  Not front crawl yet but i'll get there.

 The two water pistols I ordered for the rugby club water fight turned up yesterday.  Too late for the rugby, but the kids still like them.

 I spotted a heron on my walk with Arwen today.

Double winners

 Our 2s and 3s won each of our respective leagues this year.  The 2s won it with a game to spare, we won it on the last game of the season on Saturday.  Our 1st team were at home as well so there was a big party and there was much merriment. I was tempted to play but my surgeon and physio said definitely not!  So I aired on the side of caution resisted.  My shoulder is getting better every day but not quite ready for contact.  I have a physio appointment in a couple of weeks where it will be months after the surgery.  I'm playing rugby next Wednesday so hopefully it'll be okay for that.

Flo won an award

It was our last rugby session of the season on Sunday and at the end we had a prize giving and a massive water fight.  She won the Spirit of rugby award!  Well done Florence.  We ended up staying for quite a while as the weather was so nice and ended up going to a Turkish restaurant with 2 other families for dinner.  A fairly big day in the end.  We got a special thanks from our fellow coaches in the u6s, we got £150 voucher for a local pub / restaurant.

It wasn't my fault

 April had to spend the night in a Tonbridge hotel on Wednesday night.  She'd been out in London having drinks with some old team mates and got home quite late.  When she got to the door she realised she didn't have her keys with her.  14 missed calls to me and 10 mins of shouting through the letter box and I was none the wiser. My phone goes into do not disturb between 10am and 6am.  So I slept like a baby.  It was only when Arthur woke me up and asked where mummy was that I realised what had happened.  Oops

One of our local pubs had a sign attached to it today and it was all in the gossip locally.  Apparently the landlord didn't even know.  The land lord of the pub I go to didn't know and it was part of the same small pub co that manages it.  Turns out the guys that put up the sign put it on the wrong Man of Kent (another pub a couple of miles away).  Ha. Oops!

 Google lens think's it's a musket shot.  It's first attempt was an uncut diamond.  Probably more like a fishing weight.

Back to the gym

 I went back to the gym for the first time in 3 weeks yesterday.  With being on holiday for two weeks and the kids being off for a third week it was too hard to find the time.  I don't think i've lost much fitness but have definitely put on a couple of kg.  Time to get back at it.  I went swimming for the first time since the operation yesterday too.  No front crawl but I did a nice slow 10 laps and seemed to be fine.

Hotdog and corn

 It was just myself and Arthur for lunch on Saturday so whilst food shopping I asked hi what he wanted to have?  Hotdog and corn was the reply.

Skateboarding

Arthur has his skateboarding lessons on Saturday so I brought Flo and Arwen along too. 

Another jigsaw

I had the kids on Saturday as April had another game of rugby.  We did another jigsaw, they're quite fun. 

Medium rare burger

 Popped to my local for lunch and the it's fairly quiet. A posh family arrived and one of them has asked for a medium rare burger...

The hilarity with the locals is pretty funny.  I'm going to wait to see how this works out.

Albino squirrel

 Dropped the kids off at their child care play group this morning (they're back to school on Tuesday) and we spotted an albino squirrel.  Apparently they've seen him before, I guess he's fairly popular with the kids.

Quick time

 We did this from start to finish in around 1h30 last night.  That's not bad going.

We've reached lvl 20!

 We reached level 20 after last night's session at the games cafe.  My monk now had an AC of 27!

Got the contract

 Finally got the contract extension through, there wasn't really a choice between extending and joining the other firm.  Not everything comes down to money, but for doing virtually the same work i'm getting paid an additional £42,500 over 6 months, plus I only have to go into the office once a week rather than the mandated 4 in the new place.

Chicken pot pie

 I made this earlier, a delicious chicken pot pie.  Flo helped with the chopping, Arthur helped with some of the pastry.

Another win at gold for me

Leisurely Thursday.  We had a little walk along the beach on Thursday, watched a big log get moved from the sea defence before a spot of crazy golf, followed by some ice cream

Back to the beech on Wednesday afternoon

 A bit chilly for me, but the kids had their wetsuits and had fun jumping in the waves.
