Another gig for Florence

She sang two songs this time.  She's a confident girl!

Flo's gig!

Flo's singing teacher asked her if she'd like to sing in a band last Monday.  Two 13 year old girls and a drummer needed a singer at the monthly gig her music school puts on.  She learnt the song and did great!  Well done Flo!  Flo's teacher even got April up for one song too!

Christmas concerts

We had two Christmas concerts at school yesterday, one for all children in years 3 and up, and the second one for kids that do extra music lessons or are in a choir.  There was an hour gap in between (not sure why) and it over ran by 35 mins.  So we didn't get back till 7:45.  I was 50 mins late for my d&d session.

Arthur had to sit through it, beginning

at the end

Flostonbury

Having missed her singing lesson Florence decided to put on a show for us.  4 songs,  followed by an encore. She made us all tickets and we had allocated seating.

Lunch with Flo

April took Arthur to a birthday party so I asked Flo what she wanted for lunch.  She said Thai, so I took her round the corner.  Just as the food turned up I got a call April reminding that Flo had a rearranged singing lesson.  Doh!  Oh well.

Karaoke night at the Chequers

Ruined by 9 drunk rugby coaches!

We had a curry night with some of the minis rugby coaches on Friday.  We kicked off at 5, followed by a curry at 8, before descending on my local till last orders.  We easily drowned out the the sound of the microphone.  He, he!

Wriggleworms

Wednesday and Friday mornings the Old Town Folk team put on Wriggleworms.  Basically silly nursery rhymes for kids.  She might be bit young to get all of the jokes but she does seem to enjoy it.

I thought it was cancelled yesterday as it wasn't in the usual place.

Luckily we found it on Navy Pier

First game at no.10

I played my first game at number 10 on Saturday and we won 12-10, I've played the off minute here and there due to injuries but never before a full match.

I think we made it hard for ourselves and probably should have scored one or two more but we got the win after travelling for 1h45 each way to deepest darkest Thanet (East Kent). Good job we had the 'party bus' where we all pay £10 each to hire one of Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls' mini buses and to get a shed load of cans of beers for the way back.  Bargain.

Nelly the Elephant has never been sung finer.

Free half day off tomorrow

Tomorrow is my company's annual lunch, it's basically a big booze up for all members or staff and it is compulsory that we all attend.

They put on a good event though, after the champaign, three course sit down meal and copious amounts of fine wine there's usually a few games to play or for one particularly brave member of staff to steal the microphone and do an impromptu medley of old stage tunes.

Of course, it's ideal preparation for Saturday's game of rugby...

Stop the press

I've found a worse Rock Band singer than Kris.

Shaheen! The man has no tone, scrach that, he does have tone, just one type, monotone.

Thanks for coming down guys, it was good to see everyone.

10 people + 2 cats stayed over which was a bit of a push but I had my own room with April so we were fine.
