Another finger update

I went to the hospital this morning to see if my finger had healed and they reckon it has.  I still need to wear the splint at night for a couple more weeks but think it's pretty much there.  Still no rugby for a bit though.

I asked if the physio could send me a copy of the original x-ray but she couldn't, but she would let me take a photo of it.

Ouchy

My friend Glenn fell off his bike yesterday morning and dislocated a finger.  Ouch.  He kindly sent us a photo.

Doesn't like the big snowballs

Took Arwen out to the Racecourse the other day and for some reason she didn't like the big snowball that someone had made.

The day before I had to take April to A&E as she bolted and badly bruised April's hand that got jarred in by the dog lead.  It swelled up and bruised immediately so we took her in but the x-ray was clear and is only bruised.  Phew.  Can't have April shirking.

We're tidying up some files at the moment and I just found this

It's the x-ray of my left hand before I had the operation, check out the image on the right.  What direction is that pointing in?  Ouch!  If you search for my other finger x-ray, that's better, it looks like i'm giving someone the V.

I don't think i've seen this x-ray before.  April must have squirrelled it away in her filing cabinet.

Gonad protection.

Just got my finger x-rayed again and on the wall were 6 gonad protectors in descending size, kind of like the 3 ducks you see in 70s sitcoms.
Made me laugh. Luckilly I didn't need them as I only need my finger x-rayed, but it would have been funny explaining to the nurse how big my nads were...

Broken wrist?

I hurt my wrist playing rugby a couple of months back and it's still not much better.  It's generally fine in most everyday use but certain things cause a fair amount of pain.  April's fed up with me complaining about it so I went to the doctor last Friday to get it checked out.

He couldn't see anything immediately wrong with it but told me to get it x-rayed just in case.  I had my x-rays on Wednesday morning but they were inconclusive so were getting referred to a doctor.

The hospital I went to was amazing though, brand spanking new, Pembury.  I turned up at 8:30 and was out of there by 9:05, just missed out on free parking.

One thing that did annoy me though was the route from the car park to the hospital.  I had to go through a winding path all the way down turning at least 5 times till I got to the bottom.  I think it's fair enough to improve access of the disabled but to make everyone else walk 5 times that distance is ridiculous.  What about a set of stairs?

X-ray

I'm going to get my right wrist (no jokes please) x-rayed on Wednesday morning.  I went to see my doctor because my wrist still hurts two months after hurting it playing rugby.  Not because of it hurting too much, but because April forced me due to the fact that I keep winging about it.

Anyway, the doctor has told me to get it x-rayed at our local hospital, I was busy today and have head office in tomorrow so will get it checked out early on Wednesday morning before work.

Interesting the area needing to be x-rayed is my anatomical snuff box area.
