Hythe is lovely

Other than a huge Sunday lunch, 3 meats, pork, beef and lamb with a side of half a chicken we didn't get up to much. Here's Hythe beach at 8:30 this morning on a dog walk. It's going to be a hot one.

We're on holiday

We've just arrived at our house in Hythe. It's nice. First priority was to put the wine in the wine fridge. Unfortunately the Riesling bottles were too long so have to go in sideways.

Feels a bit weird

The guy that made our dining table and bench has taken them back for adjustment.  The table had split and the bench and a distinct curve to it so asked for him to fix.  We were one of his first customers and he's added a few bits to his design.  Hopefully this sorts it out or we're going to need to push for our money back.

The kitchen does look weird though without it, it should take 2-3 weeks to get sorted.

Hot spot

Josie's found a hot spot catching the morning sun under my desk.  She'd better be careful I forget she's there.

Tour of Bloomberg's London office

A Tonbridge friend gave me a tour of his building yesterday, what a view!  The inside was pretty impressive too.  The best perk was free mini cheddars.

Afterwards we met up with a few others and had quite a few beers in the Market Porter in Borough Market.

3 days a week?

We've just had a town hall at work to discuss hybrid working.  We've been told that from next week we're expected to be in 3 days a week...

Hmm... I'm off next week holiday but still don't want to go in that often.  I was in last Thursday and I spoke to nobody for more than 20 seconds.  What's the point.  My boss works full time from home in Bristol so there's no real need of me in anyway.  I have found today useful with another go worker but still think one day is enough.

Part of the reason I chose this role vs another was the fact that it was more relaxed and allowed me to work mostly from home.  I'll have words with my bosses when I return to see if there's a compromise, i.e. original agreement.

It's £35 a day on the train which I can put through my company as an expense but beers are £2 a pint more expensive which I can't!

8 years since Sonisphere

It's been 8 years since we went to Sonisphere.  Wow.  Our lives are so different now.  Not sure when i'll get to do that sort of thing again

We're off on holiday

Only 2.5 days left before we're on a weeks holiday.  We're off to Hythe (Kent) with Shaheen and Kate and their lot.  It's the first time we've had time off since early April.  Looks like we're bringing some decent weather with us.

Have you seen my baseball?

No, but Arwen may have.  In the past week Arwen has collected a total of 7 balls, 5 of which have been baseballs.  We walk past a baseball pitch everyday (sometimes twice) and always seems to find one hidden in the undergrowth.  Unfortunately I have to spend 10mins afterwards getting all the various seeds out of her coat when we get back.

Arthur loves rugby

Or at the very least my rugby ball, he found it last week and wouldn't go anywhere without it, including to bed.
