20 years in the city

I started work in the City of London 20 years ago last week.  It's a strange feeling, I've met lots of nice people, some of which are still very good friends. Some have been wankers but I guess you get that in every industry. Money's been good, very good for the amount of work I have to do so overall I have very little to complain about. 

I think i'm in love

As you all know I get paid far too much money and as it was my birthday last week I though i'd treat myself to an extravagant purchase. I've been looking at getting a nice set of stone dice but they are terribly expensive.  I've also been toying with the idea of getting a nice wooden dice carrying dice mat but the one I want is the best part of £100.  These weren't quite that but not far off it. Maybe i'll treat myself at Christmas.

 

Jukebox update...

I've just had a call from our Jukebox supplier. It's finally getting delivered on Friday! We ordered it at the end of November last year.

Flo's first day of school

 Flo started reception today.  Here she is in her new school uniform.  At least she doesn't have to wear a beret like one of her friends at their school!

 We popped along to to Tonbridge Castle to meet up with our friends at the Tonbridge Food and Drink Festival.

Triple kids parties this week!

 One on Saturday and a doubler this morning.  Here's Arthur's all tuckered out before grabbing an impromptu lunch at Sankey's.  2 lobsters, some oysters and steak.  I drew the short straw and had to drive so no nice wine for me.  Both kids were excellent throughout.

Fell asleep just as we arrived.

There's music at Sankey's on Sunday.  The guys decided on having a little dance.  The musician was very patient!

Flo starts reception next week

 After 8 weeks off Flo is finally heading back to school.  We all had a week off at the beginning, she was back at the school for a couple of weeks in their summer club, another couple of weeks at a different summer club then April's had the last two weeks off with her.  It will be good to get her back into more of a routine and some proper structure.

Arthur started with his new child minder yesterday and is having a great time.  The childminder and a bunch of her other childminder friends have bought a bit of land and basically have a mini forest school.  Athur was playing with one of their goats yesterday!  He's there 3 days a week and at his old nursery for the other two days.  That's until he heads to the nursery at Flo's school after next year's easter holiday.

The main birthday present

 April commissioned the daughter of Grayson Perry to paint this for me.  What a wonderful dog!  And wife.

I also got a new board game, two sets of salad servers, a new smart watch and some corn on the cob holders.

 I did the usual walk with Arwen yesterday morning and it was a lovely day.  Look at the good girl.
