Earache

 Flo's been sent home from school a couple of times already this week with earache.  She's now been subscribed some antibiotics so hopefully that will sort her out.  She seemed much better this morning so hopefully that's a good sign.  April's staying over in Folkstone tonight for some works thing so i'm home alone with both kids.  Arthur's sleeping has been terrible recently and wakes up and stays up at around 5 every day.  This morning it was 4!

Interesting social media interactions...

 I'm off most social media these days, mostly because I feel the bad sides of it out weigh the things I enjoy.  

In order to post videos to this blog I tend to upload them to YouTube rather than save them locally then upload.  Lazy on my behalf but what can you do?  By putting them on YouTube it makes them publicly available and some get quite a few views.

What interests me is the amount of likes some of the videos get, or more specifically the amount of dislikes.  The highest views i've had for one of my videos is approximately 2.5k, but the ones that seem to get the most traction sit at around the 1k mark. I generally get 80% likes ratio which on the face of it sounds good, but when I really think about it, it's pretty shit.  Not many of my friends (who know I have a blog) actually bother clicking on the videos anyway as I can see quite a few only have 1 or two views or on some even 0.  Ignoring that, my point is who would actually bother moving their mouse to the dislike button?  95% of my videos are about my dog or my children.  Fair enough, you might not be interested in my dog or my children but to actively make the effort to dislike it???  I think there's something wrong with you.  I'm glad I don't use social media and i'm glad i'm not you

 Arthur threw his favourite toy bus at my head at point blank range on Saturday and it hit me right above the eyebrow.  Little fucker!  Right below one of my rugby scars.

School choice

 So... we've decided to put Flo into the local prep school (fee paying), and by Easter 2023 Arthur will head there too.  It's a big expense but we can afford to pay the nursery fees as they stand now, why not pay them for the next x years too.  We're in a good position financially, where else would we put the money?

The city's overrun with kids

The last couple of days have been 'bring your kids to work' days in the city but today has to be the worst.  I get a fairly late train (8:26) and it was rammed this morning.  There must have been 30 small children in my carriage alone.

My company is putting on a bit of a show for the kids later.  I think they're expecting 100 in total.  Jeez!

Hopefully they'll all have left before I need to catch my last train home of the year at 1:30.
