Remote control

 My brother Steve bought Arthur a remote control car for his birthday a couple of weeks ago and he's been smashing into all of our skirting boards ever since.  I took him to the rugby fields in the afternoon on Saturday so he could properly use it in anger outdoors.  It was fun.

I turned a box into a robot for Arthur yesterday and he loved it.  It inevitably caused conflict as Flo wanted a go too.  Luckily i've sourced another box so they can both play tomorrow. 

East Carlton park

 I popped to East Carlton Park with my Dad and Ann yesterday and had a lovely time.  The last time I was there was with an ex girlfriend 20+ years ago.

 One of Flo's favourite TV shows is numberblocks, so I bought her the base set to play with.  She's already very good with numbers but it doesn't hurt helping her push herself a little.

 Arwen's been on her long lead when we take her out for a few weeks ago now as all she wants to do is run over to other dogs to say hello and play.  It's quite frustrating as we'd like to let her off but when she has her mind set on it her recall has all but disappeared.

This week I brought out the ball chucker again and she's obsessed about it, it's the only thing she wants to do.  Now she's let off the lead and back in the good books.  Unfortunately she lost her first ball today when she dropped it and it rolled into the river.  Doh.  Not to worry, we have plenty more.

 As of around 4pm I was able to log in.  Woohoo.  Still no sign of the work laptop though.

What fun

 We took Arwen and the kids to Bedgebury Pinetum yesterday and did a big walk around the managed forest. 

She really enjoyed running around like a look through the pine cones.

Whilst April's still on maternity leave she also has Flo on Wednesdays.

Last day off today

So thought i'd play a little FM.  We're going for a walk this later before an early lunch at the Chaser.  Our cat sitter is popping round at two, but after that i'm free until Flo collection time.

She finally likes swings

She's now 21 months old and she finally likes the swing.  This is the best play ground apparatus as apart from the occasional push you don't have to do much.  Although she can generally climb up most slides you still have to help her and make sure she doesn't plummet down too fast (she's done that once already and took a face full of dirt).

Star of the show

We both took Florence to her last baby play time at the library on Monday.  Flo was the star of the show.  Waving and clapping at all the appropriate times.  I don't know where she gets the extrovert gene from.  It's certainly not from us.

The Thomas Hughes Children's library puts on free classes each week, this is her second time. She really enjoys it.

We went to a play group yesterday which wasn't quite as bad as I thought I'd be. I wasn't the only man too. In fact there were two others.

The worrying this is that I'll have to take Florence on my own next time. Eek.

How long before I lose my wedding ring?

I keep playing with it, and know before long i'll end up losing it.  I'll have to ween myself off.  For the rest of the day I won't touch it (with my other hand). 

Catbo: First Blood

April was rudely awoken last night, the cats were playing with something under the bed and making a racket, she reached under and felt something wet. Eek was her cry! I was oblivious to all this, snoring away to what was happening. April has to lock the cats out for the rest of the night.

April told me all this when I woke up and then we spotted the body. A tiny little mouse. Have we pegged the cats wrong? I thought they were harmless wuss cats. Have we let trained killers into our home? Let’s hope not, as the mouse very nearly needed 2 flushes to go down the loo…
