Unfortunatly some of our friends have contracted Covid

Pinged
We were both pinged by the NHS app on Thursday. Doh! That meant we both had to self isolate, the kids could still have went to school as we didn't have any symptoms but as chance would have it there were two teacher training days at the nursery that week so April already had the days booked off. This of course meant that the whole family was locked down for the duration.
Luckily we only had to survive until midnight on Sunday, at times I wasn't sure if we would make it...
Doing a little digging it looks like we were flagged last Thursday about possibly coming into contact with someone had had since tested positive for Covid-19. You get pinged if you spend 15 mins or more and within 2 meters. Not sure if we ever were, but there you go. There were only two places we went together and that was the Curlew (£220 meal with only April drinking) and the Westerham Brewery (April drinking again) and that was outside.
We had to cancel Swimming, rugby tots, play date, dog walk and spend the whole time within the confines of our house and garden. Despite it being a fairly big house it certainly felt small at times. To top it off before the pinging we agreed to dog sit a friend's dog who was taking his family to Lords to watch cricket. We couldn't really say no at such short notice so at 9:30 we had a new addition to the family.

Rule of (at least) 6 (beers)
I've taken Monday 29th off from work. I may as well, I have effectively paid for the holidays and bank holidays already with the way my contract works. That will leave me with 11.5 left till mid August and that doesn't include the bank holidays. We're not planning to go anywhere special during that period so thought i'd make the most of the first stage of lockdown easing and have some local friends over for beers and a bbq in my back garden.
Rates are low, infact Tonbridge itself had no new cases last week (Tonbridge and Malling 14 per 100,000) , I just need to get back to some level of normality. And by normality I mean having some beers with friends.
Work needs to be done on the shed before that though as it needs a good de-spider and there will need to be a minesweeping of dog poop the morning before to ensure no mishaps.
The shed does leak so it will need to get some air into it too. Not sure how my friend's brother's 50 inch TV faired this closed season as that was a mainstay for outdoor sport and movies last summer. Fingers crossed.

BBQ on the 29th?
I'm thinking about taking Monday 29th off to make the most of the Rule of 6 in your garden. In the morning i'll clear out the shed and give the BBQ a clean. In the afternoon some friends will pop over for beers and a bbq. The last BBQ we had at ours was in 2019 where my gas ran out.
No chance this time, swapped the empty bottle for this mammoth at the weekend.
I was worried about whether people would be allowed to use the toilet but according to the offical advice (The Mirror) looks like they can!

Lock down is over
Welcome to Tier 3.
Let's hope it has the desired effect and brings down the infection rate across the whole of Kent. It we get assessed again in a couple of weeks with any luck they'll shift us down into Tier 2 so we can eat out again. Still no meeting up with friends indoors though.

My commute
Since Covid19 started appearing in the UK and we were put in quarantine i've tried to keep up my step count so have been doing a lot of walking. Since Flo's been allowed back at the nursery i've been taking the hour before I have to start work at 9:30 to walk around our local parks.
Here I am today.
