Amature

There was a story this week about a football manager player getting an actual managers job all be it in Iceland.

https://www.sportbible.com/football/gaming/football-manager-gaming-iceland-football-262214-20240211

He says he's spent 8% of his waking life playing FM.  Nothing but an amature.  How about 8.9%?

I've only got records going back to FM09 which is where I first started playing it on steam, but before that I played it just as much.  In fact all the way back to 1992 when it was called Championship Manager.  A conservative estimate would assume the same rate of play for the additional games brings me up to 8.8%.  At the time of writing I still haven't had a job offer.

If only...

Football manager simulated the UK staying in the EU

If only you could save game and reload in real life.  Problem being, if I reloaded real life, would Liverpool still win the league???  Despite the shit show, i'm happy with the Premier league title so not worth the risk...

Well that's a life changer

Apologies in advance, the next few posts will be mostly baby related.  I reserve the right to still post about the cats, just a little less than normal.

Well, that was fun... My little baby daughter was born on Monday last week, here's a photo of her when she was about 3 hours old.  Plenty more to come.

Everything went well and we were home by Wednesday evening, we've been home for nearly a week now but are still someway off getting into any form of normality.  We've been out for a walk or two and popped into town for a coffee or meal everyday and so far so good she's been good as gold.

Sleep's been hard to come by as she doesn't really like sleeping at 2 in the morning and when it's my shift and i've ran out of expressed milk i'm almost redundant.  This morning I put her in the car seat and drove around Kent for an hour or so.  She seems to like it and fell to sleep almost immediately.  Unfortunately she piped up as soon as I got her home so then took her out for a long walk.  This was good until half an hour in where she started to cry again.  Urgh.  Time to wake up mummy for a feed.

Facebook fatigue

At my peak I had around 550 friends but over the course of the past year or so i've whittled that down to less than 100.  Not for any big brother reason but just because to get to that number of 'friends' I was adding / accepting anyone.  I did have a bet with my brother to be the first one to get to 200 ( I won), but I kept it going.  Changing jobs a few times and joining a new rugby club helped get me to that number

I don't want people I don't really know to have access to my life without interacting with me.  If they want that they can come to my amazing blog...

That said, I don't want people who i've removed from my facebook page to think that I don't care.  I probably don't, but it's just if you want to keep posted on my life get in touch once in a while.

Weekend plans canceled

Ross has called off late. He's moved sites (somewhere near Bristol) and he's snowed under with work.  He was supposed to head down to Shaz's today so that we could meet his girlfriend Penny.
I think we're going to have to have a chat with him again about work/life balance. Most people have times when work has to come first, but it can't be the norm. I've even had to do a few extra hours at work these past few months, peaking at a high of working all night with no sleep. But that is hardly a regular occurrence. We've been trying to meet Ross's other half for years now but for one reason or another he's never got round to sorting it out.
My weekends are fairly packed over the next few months so good knows when well catch up again.

This 'life'

I get home from work, get changed, feed the cats then sit down and watch The One Show.

Is this what my life has become?

Argh!
