Finally

April bought Arthur a Real Madrid (knock off) with Trent Alexander Arnold on the back when the kids headed off to Spain last summer.  April has replaced it with an official Liverpool one from Vinted for £4.  Not bad.

Crocus

The crocus at the bottom of th e castle have started coming out again.

Trip to London

We went into London yesterday.  We had a spot of lunch in Chinatown before heading to the twist museum on Oxford Street before having a little wonder around Covent Garden, a nice Thai meal then heading back home for bed.

Stitches out today

I get my stitches out today, these are the ones where my bicep tendon was repaired, the other 3 incisions were keyhole so didn't need any.

There's been a bit of a mix up as I said i'd get it sorted locally, but got a request to go back to the hospital.  I asked them to cancel it but they haven't so canned the one at my local gp practice.  Hopefully it'll all be good as i'd like to get rid of the plasters covering my arm and get a proper wash.

Proper physio starts this evening too.  I'll be sure to take a few ibuprofen before hand as I have a feeling it's going to hurt.

Phew

It's been 3 weeks since our last d&d session and I even missed this one.  Kind of glad I did...  We faced 9 dragons of some description or another.  Yikes!  We're up to level 18 though!

Pancake day

April normally does American pancakes for the kids but this morning I made English ones (French).  I could have made anything as long as the kids got to cover it in sugar and they would have liked them just the same.

The last one turned out to be more like a beholder.

Spot the dog

Arwen coming to say hello when i'm having lunch in my office.  What are you up to?  Who me?  Just sniffing...

Once she got busted there was no point hiding.  Even Josie joined in.  Greedy animals.

Mouse trap

Arthur brought this home on Friday, they had a school fair for charity and this was what he chose.  It's surprisingly still intact.  I never had the game as a kid.  I didn't miss out...

April's valentine gifts

We were supposed to make the roses ourselves, but the kids muscled their way in.

Lasagne

April cooked this for us on Saturday.  Only one word can describe it really.  Triumph!

Lone sock

Poor lonely sock left on the coat rack at the rugby club.

The return of zombie arm

This was the state of my shoulder / arm on Saturday morning.  Nice and green / yellow.  All going well, I went rugby training witht he kids yesterday morning in the mud and rain.  Didn't do much, other than stand around and get wet though.  Bit by bit, i'm getting better.  I'm booked to get the stitches out of my bicep on Wednesday now.  And seeing the surgeon a week today.  I need to sort out a physiotherapist this week but waiting to hear ack from theb insurer first as pretty sure they'll pay for it.

You rang?

A friend bought me this to aid with my recovery.  I don't dare use is with April.

I had my op

All went well although whilst in there they spotted that the tendon holding my bicep in place was threadbare so the surgeon repaired that whilst he was in there.  Cutting it then screwing it back to my arm.  Nice.  I've been signed off for 4 weeks!  I'm stiff and sore but no more than expected.  I have a check up with my surgeon a week on Monday and have to organise physio and the removal of some of the stiches.

Puncture

I had an alert from the car on Saturday after picking Flo up from her sleep over and then dance class.  The rear left tyre had low pressure.  I managed to get it pumped up at the garage but when doing so spotted this.  Bloody hell. They couldn't fix it till Monday so we were car less.  All paid for by the leasing company though so could have been worse.

Clip and climb on Sunday

Two of Arthur's school friends had a clip and climb birthday party on Sunday.  April was watching the ladies play rugby so I took them along.

Ash

We saw Ash at the Tunbridge Wells Forum on Friday night. 250 capacity venue.  Last time I saw them was in 1995 at the Reading Rock festival.  Closer to 100k.

Radiohead cover band

Saturday was hectic, beer festival at the club, before heading to Camden for a Radiohead cover band.  Good fun, made it back by midnight before turning into a pumpkin.

New ball pump for the u6s

We keep having to pump up the rugby balls we use for the u6s training session.  I have a small pump that the 6s seem to have acquired but it's not big enough or fast enough to pump all 30 of our balls.  I bought this which should make it a lot faster on a Sunday morning.  It would of course be better if the club bought us balls that didn't deflate each week before needing getting repumped.

Not looking likely

That we'll be training back at the rugby club any time soon.

Good to see the coaches taking bulldog seriously!

We finished it!

And opened up to two further puzzles inside.  One was 2 spot the 200 items within the puzzle, we managed 195.  The second extra puzzle was to find all 100 differences between the jigsaw and the map.  I decided it would be too hard to do so packed up the puzzle.  We also had a mini dinner party within an hour or so, so needed the table space.

Goggle update

I can confirm that my new goggles are doing great.  Not a drop of water get in.  I can at least now see where i'm going.  Only 3 or 4 swims left before I have my operation.  Boo hoo.  I'll be out for months I think.

Wellies are out

Half of the paths close to the rugby pitch are flooded so I've got my wellies out.  Arwen doesn't have wellies.

A lot of water in Tonbridge at the minute

No games on at the club for the foreseeable future

My goggles have arrived

My goggles have been letting in a bit of water recently which kind of defeats the point of wearing them so I have splashed out on a new pair.  Introducing the Vanquisher 3!  I've only got a week and a half of using them till the operation and I imagine i'll be out of action for months.

Today's helper

Arwen is keeping me company in my office today.

Monster Trucks!

Arthur's package arrived on Monday so I let him open them up on Tuesday morning.  He only got to play with them this morning and last night.

Daily Mail

One of the rugby lads reminded me of this over the weekend.  I forgot I was in the Daily Mail...

New jigsaw

We started a new jigsaw on Saturday and made good progress.  It's a pretty tough one as the map deliberately doesn't match the puzzle.  Once we complete it, there are two additional envelopes we get to open with separate challenges. Should be fun!
